Classification guide

How entries are labelled

The main label distinguishes sombr-led commercial releases, a guest collaboration and sourced public cover performances.

01

sombr-led release

A commercially released recording with sombr as the principal artist, including standalone singles, EP tracks and album cuts.

02

Feature / collaboration

A substantial named vocal on another artist’s release, kept separate from sombr’s own lead catalogue.

03

Public performance

A complete, reliably documented cover from a major broadcast, festival or tribute event, or a clearly sourced onstage collaboration with the original artist.

Counting rules

When a version becomes a separate entry

The deciding question is whether the item contains a distinct sombr performance, not simply a new upload, video or release container.

Usually counted separately

  • A newly released original recording
  • A substantial named feature on another artist’s master
  • A complete cover with reliable broadcast or event documentation
  • A genuinely rerecorded alternate vocal

Usually grouped with the original

  • A single later placed on an EP or album unchanged
  • A visualizer or music video using the same audio
  • An edit, sped-up version or remix reusing the existing vocal
  • An unrelated upload by another artist using the same name

Questions

sombr catalogue FAQ

Explanations for the version, project and public-performance decisions that affect the total.

What kinds of recordings are included?

The archive includes every confirmed sombr-led commercial recording found in the reviewed official discography, the Rachel Chinouriri collaboration, and ten complete public covers or onstage collaborations supported by major broadcast, festival, event or news sources.

Are singles counted again on an EP or album?

No. A single keeps its original release date and the note explains its later project placement, but the same master is represented by one catalogue row.

Why are “weak,” “silhouette” and “my house is warm” dated before the EP?

Those recordings were released individually before in another life arrived on 15 September 2023. The entries preserve the first official dates while identifying the final EP track positions.

Why are public cover performances included?

The archive includes complete, strongly sourced performances with catalogue significance, including BBC, SiriusXM, Audiotree and triple j studio covers; appearances with Billy Corgan, Niall Horan and 5 Seconds of Summer; and the two songs selected for Taylor Swift’s Songwriters Hall of Fame induction.

Are remixes and visualizers counted separately?

Only when a new sombr vocal or genuinely new performance is established. A visualizer, radio edit or remix that reuses the existing master remains grouped with the original song.

Why are some streaming uploads excluded?

Different performers can use the same artist name. A release is included only when the billing and surrounding official sources identify Shane Boose, professionally known as sombr.

What is the latest recording in this review?

“My Body Isn’t Ready,” released on 25 June 2026, is the latest confirmed commercial release. The newest performance record is “She Looks So Perfect” with 5 Seconds of Summer at Lollapalooza Chicago on 30 July 2026.
