Why the archive exists
A longer song list is not automatically a better one.
Traditional discographies are useful for albums, singles and major guest appearances, but they often leave out backing vocals, soundtrack work, alternate recordings, group projects, demos and material that never received an official release.
EverySongBy brings those parts of the recording history together without pretending they are equivalent. A lead vocal is different from a short backing part. A writer’s demo is different from the final version released by another performer. A circulating snippet is not presented as a complete song.
What the archive documents
The full recording picture, kept in clear sections.
Inclusion is based on a distinct recording, an audible vocal contribution or a relevant project connection—not simply the appearance of a title on a list.
Features and collaborations
Guest vocals, co-leads, group work and recordings issued under another primary artist.
Backing and brief vocals
Background, additional, uncredited or short audible parts that should not be mistaken for lead performances.
Alternate recordings
Rerecordings, duet versions, acoustic takes and other genuinely distinct performances.
Demos and song pitches
Guide vocals and writer demos, with intended performers and the completeness of the surviving audio stated where known.
Samples, reused vocals and performances
Existing vocals used in another release, sampled performances and significant public-only recordings.
Leaked and circulating material
Reported recordings, snippets and files in circulation, with recording and circulation dates separated when supported.
Related and unconfirmed credits
Project-only, writer-only, disputed or incomplete connections that should remain separate from verified vocals.
Editorial method
How a catalogue is built.
No single source usually contains the whole recording history. Claims are compared, classifications are reviewed and the finished page is audited again when new releases or stronger evidence appear.

Record the audit date and update entries when a release, correction or better source changes what is known.
Unreleased and uncertain material
Unknown does not mean unimportant—but it must stay unknown.
Unreleased recordings can be part of an artist’s history. The archive describes the available evidence without converting rumours, filenames or incomplete audio into certainty.
Released and verified
An authorised recording or a vocal credit supported by reliable release information.
Circulating recording
Audio is publicly reported to exist, but its filename, project, date or completeness may still be uncertain.
Documented title
A title or project connection is recorded publicly, while a complete recording or confirmed vocal may not be available.
Related or unconfirmed credit
The artist is connected to the song or project, but the nature of the recorded contribution is not established.

The surviving audio is described accurately.

Editorial standards
Clear facts, clear limits.
The wording and design should help visitors recognise the difference between a documented fact, a useful community source and a point that remains unresolved.
Dates are not guessed
Recording years, release dates and reported leak dates are shown separately and only when supported.
Versions stay distinct
A genuinely different vocal or recording can receive its own entry; an ordinary reissue does not automatically qualify.
Writing is not performing
A writer-only credit remains separate unless an artist’s own demo or vocal recording is documented.
Source type is visible
Official credits, chart authorities, interviews, registrations and community documentation are not treated as identical evidence.
Popularity has global context
Where reliable records exist, chart, certification and award information can reflect multiple markets rather than one country alone.
Documentation is not distribution
The archive may describe circulating or leaked material, but it does not host, embed or link to unauthorised audio.
