Counting rules
When a version becomes a separate entry
The deciding question is whether the release contains a meaningfully distinct performance or recording, not simply a new package or remaster date.
Usually counted separately
- A genuine rerecording or demo
- A substantially new arrangement in the Reworked project
- A remix that materially changes the recording
- An officially issued live performance with archive significance
Usually grouped with the original
- Remasters using the same performance

What kinds of recordings are included?
The archive covers the eight studio albums, pre-Snow Patrol Shrug and Polarbear recordings, B-sides and bonus tracks, soundtrack and compilation originals, covers, collaborations, official demos and rerecordings, and officially released live or session performances.
Why are Reworked songs counted separately?
Reworked deliberately rebuilt older songs with new arrangements and performances, so those recordings are treated as distinct versions rather than ordinary remasters.
Are anniversary editions counted as new albums?
No. The original album masters remain one entry each. Newly issued B-sides, archive songs, demos and live recordings are added only when they represent distinct recordings.
How are the Shrug and Polarbear periods handled?
Documented Shrug demos and the 1997 Polarbear Starfighter Pilot EP are retained as early/archival band history because they predate the final Snow Patrol name. Where a later Snow Patrol-era recording also exists, the earlier version is identified clearly.
Is the 2026 material included?
Yes. The archive includes the Eyes Open 20th-anniversary material released in July 2026 and the Snow Patrol & Kylie Minogue single “These Alarms” released on 1 July 2026.
Does this include every concert recording?
No. Live material is intentionally selective. The focus is on the song catalogue and officially issued performances with clear archive significance.
